History of Kelly's Sports:

Kelly's Sports was the vision Alvy & Addy Kelly. After Alvy was fired from his engineering job in 1970, he and Addy sat down and started discussing what they were going to do.  They had always been involved with athletics growing up, and knew it was difficult to get quality sporting goods and superior service anywhere in the area.  They decided to take a chance and open their own sporting goods store.  There mission; "To provide quality sporting goods with the type of service they themselves would expect to receive."

With this mission they opened their first store in 1972 at the Parkway Center in West Chester, PA.  It was a hit; players, coaches, and parents flocked to the store.  The customers couldn't get enough of Alvy and Addy's service, care, and friendship. 

After graduating High School, Alvy and Addy's son, Steve, began working at the store.  With his help a second store was opened in 1978 at the New Garden Shopping Center in Kennett Square, PA.  The entire operation was consolidated into a twenty-five thousand square foot facility at the intersection of the 202 bypass and Matlack Street in November of 1985.

Kelly's Sports 3 Generations Strong:

After graduating college in 2006, Steve's son Steven Jr, came on board to as the 3rd generation of Kellys to work at the store.  Even after 3 generations, the mission has remained the same; to provide over and beyond service to all of our customers.
